Lesson 11: OCT of the Choroid Copy

The Choroid: Enhanced depth imaging on an OCT allows for high-quality images of the choroid. The choroid can be identified in this OCT image.

Notice the dark vertical streaks seen in both images. These are shadows of blood vessels located above. They cause a shadow to fall underneath them due to the blocking of OCT light signals.

Dense vitreous floaters also cast shadows across the underlying retinal layers.
